Description

This is an unusual combination specimen from a quite unknown locality in Chile, the Tambo mine, El Indio Deposit, Elqui Province, Coquimbo.
Alight grey, porphyric matrix is hosting small gold leaves frozen in the rock; the cavities are lined with tabular alunite crystals (pic 7), some minute crystals of cubic pharmacosiderite (pic 8) and rodalquilarite (pic 9) are perched atop the alunite crystals.
