Description

Rare and hard-to-get material from Iceland: Geyserite, an opaline sinter that is often found around hot springs and geysers, probably from the name-giving Great Geyser in Iceland.

Comes with old Dr. Krantz label plus a second antique label. It was originally a specimen of the Augustin Alexis Damour Damour collection, a well-known french mineralogist. His personal mineral collection was sold to F. Krantz (who was in charge of the Krantz mineral dealership between 1891 and 1926), probably shortly after Damour's death.
Damour was sufficiently famous that Krantz had printed special labels  identifying the specimens from the Damour collection.
