Description

Specimen consisting of masses of rough, dark purple fluorite and reddish-brown siderite. Minor golden (chalco)pyrite is present (see pic 5).

This is really old material from Dr. Krantz stock, comes with antique box and label in old german script, dated middle 19th century. The label means "Flußspath mit Braunspath, Elisabethschacht, Himelfahrt Fundgr." (Fluorite with siderite, Elisabeth shaft, Himmelfahrt 'treasure trove').
'Flußspath' is a german synonym for fluorite, 'Braunspath' is an old german synonym for siderite.
