Description

A fine, complete and sharp monazite crystal from Risør, Aust-Agder, Norway. Lustrous, with brown color.

Comes with glass vial & cork stopper and beautiful label of the Mineralien-Niederlage (mineral repository) Freiberg, Saxony, Germany, handwriting of Otto Felix Edelmann, who was Administrator from 1920 to 1952. Good monazite crystals like this one are rare and hare to get, especially from norway.

Slightly radioactive due to content of U, Th and rare earth elements (appr. 3.0 micro Sv/h within spitting distance).
