Description

A cluster of intergrown, radiating stibnite crystals. The crystals partly have a thin dusting of yellowish oxidation products (stibiconite, cervantite).

The Murchison mine is an antimony and gold mine. Initial production took place in 1928 and overall output was considered to be small size. Available information about this mine is mostly old, from the 70's or 80's, but it seems to be still working.
Comes with notice label. Transvaal was one of the four provinces of south africa until 1994.
