Description

This specimen features crystalline gold and black brannerite, an uncommon uranium and rare earth elements mineral in white quartz matrix.

A very hard-to-get locality specimen from famous La Gardette mine in the Dauphinée region, France. The mine started in the early 17th century for rock crystals first and then, at the end of 18th century, for gold.

No significant radioactivity to report due to the low mass of the brannerite.
