Description

A small gold flake is to be found at the contact between the quartz vein and the mica schist (pics 1 & 2).

There is an ancient gold mine located on Fundkofel near Zwickenberg, 3-4 km NNE of Oberdrauburg, which worked quartz veins with visible native gold. Last mining activities took place during WW1.
