Description

A solid snow-white hydrozincite specimen, no matrix, no accompanying minerals.

Historic specimen from old Dr. Krantz stock, comes with nice antique label dated 1873. The label means: "Zinkblüthe von Santander in Spanien. Geschenk des Herrn Prof. Fritzsche 29.7.73" (Hydrozincite from Santander in Spain. Gift of Prof. Fritzsche July 29, 1873).
This was very likely Franz Wilhelm Fritzsche (1811–1892), a professor for fire assay and metallurgy at the Freiberg (Saxony) mining academy.
