Description

A group of milky-white, twinned adularia crystals is nicely perched atop a piece of metamorphic schist. The label states "4-linge" (quadruplets). Regarding the matrix rock, the exact locality is likely the Cavradi gorge or the neighboring Gotthard massif.

A 19th century specimen which comes with old label of Eugen Hussak. He was born in 1856 in Graz, Austria and studied geology under Ferdinand Zirkel in Leipzig, where he earned his PhD. He was a member of the Geological Survey of Brazil (Geographic and Geologic Commission) in Saõ Paolo in 1887-1895, and wrote numerous articles on Brazilian mineralogy. Thus, his collection consisted predominantly of brazilian minerals, other locations are scarce.
