Description

Diaspore is not really a rare mineral, but not oftenly seen on shows or in the internet. This specimen is from the Saga 1 quarry, Tvedalen, Langesundsfjord-area, Norway. It features groups of green diaspore crystals associated with acicular natrolite in a vuggy white matrix consisting mainly of massive natrolite.

An uncommon combination. Ex Rainer Wilke. His (meanwhile deceased) father Hans-Jürgen Wilke made a lot of journeys and published several books about mineral localities in scandinavia, for example "Wilke, H.-J. (1976): Mineral-Fundstellen, Bd.4: Skandinavien".
