Description

This specimen is hosting an "earthy" red portion which looks like minium or another alteration product of lead minerals, associated with an amorphous cream-colored mineral, possibly cerussite. It is quite heavy overall. Labeled as "Bleierde" - which means cerussite [Dana 6th, 288 (1892)]. Maybe worth an analysis.

Comes with beautiful old label dated 19th century. The Tarnowskie Góry deposit was mined since the Middle Ages until the beginning of the 20th century.
