Description

Set of 35 water-worn and more or less rounded topaz specimens. Size varies from 4 to 15 mm in diameter. They are colorless to light yellow and gemmy transparent, with a matte surface.

The tin mining industry in Jos Plateau started in 1904 during the british colonial era. Rukuba Tin Mining Co. was registered in 1912 and liquidated in 1924, then reconstructed as Rukuba Tin Mines Ltd. Later, the Tin Mining Industry suffered severely during the economic depression of the 1930's. These specimens are likely from tin ore prospection in the rivers.

Comes with old Krantz label.
