Description

Greenish-yellow masses of leucophanite accompanied by brown catapleite, black pyroxene (aegirine) and cream-colored feldspar.

Comes with original hand-written label of A. A. Damour (1808-1902), a well-known french mineralogist, and on-glued corresponding number sticker. The label is untypical for Damour because it is written on a piece of checkered paper, but the script is unambiguous. Damours' personal mineral collection was sold to F. Krantz (who was in charge of the Krantz mineral dealership between 1891 and 1926), probably shortly after his death.

The label means: "Leucophane avec Catapléite et Pyroxène sur Feldspath de Brewig" (Leucophanite with Catapleite and Pyroxene on Feldspar from Brewig)
