Specimen consisting of rough smoky quartz, hosting an unterminated, yellow-green crystal of common beryl.

This is a 19th century specimen which comes with original hand-written label of A. A. Damour (1808-1902), a well-known french mineralogist. His personal mineral collection was sold to F. Krantz (who was in charge of the Krantz mineral dealership between 1891 and 1926), probably shortly after his death.
The label means: "Béryl sur quartz enfumé, Sibérié" (Beryl on smoky quartz, Siberia).
