Description

Reinite is a pseudomorph of ferberite after (pseudooctahedral) scheelite. This is one of the best samples I have seen, with quite well-defined pyramidal shape and only minor quartz. No fluorescence. From Otome Mine, Kimpuzan District, a classic and rare locality.

Comes with a nice antique label. Kai was an old province in the area of modern Yamanashi Prefecture. The Otome mine, Kofu City, Kinpuzan district, Yamanashi prefecture is famous for these pseudomorphs. Rare, old material seldom seen in any quality.
