Description

Massive rock specimen hosting a geode lined with cream-white dolomite crystals from classic Idria, Carniola, Slovenia. Some small specks of red cinnabar are scattered within the dolomite but not within the grey matrix rock.

An uncommon Idria specimen which comes with antique label of Hans Jaklin; he was an austrian collector and mineralogist, born in 1874. He may have been a Royal Imperial "Mining academician" (k.k. Bergakademiker). All labels are squares of brown paper rubber-stamped with his name in purple ink.
