Description

Cluster of colorless gypsum crystals, dusted with lustrous reddish hematite var. specularite. A rare locality specimen.

Comes with beautiful old cardboard label dated May 12, 1890. 
Dr. Otto Kanzler (ca.1855-ca.1920) lived near Bad Rothenfelde, in Lower Saxony, Germany, after obtaining his medical degree, He had a particular interest in local geology, minerals and fossils, and was the author of "Geologie des Teutoburger Waldes und des Osnings (1920)". The Alfred Bauer History Museum in Bad Rothenfelde has an "Otto Kanzler Room" named for him.
