Description

Cinnabar specimens from Idria are scarce nowadays. This is massive, fine-grained cinnabar, so-called "Ziegelerz" (tile ore) because of the tile-like color and consistency.

Comes with antique label: Hans Jaklin was an austrian collector and mineralogist, born in 1874.
His mineral collection consisted almost exclusively of specimens from Austro-Hungarian localities. The Krantz mineral dealership obtained his mineral collection, which appears to have been quite numerous. All labels are squares of brown paper rubber-stamped with his name in purple ink.
