Description

Bortyolite is a variety of datolite with botryoidal structure. This is a very old specimen dated to mid 19th century from old Dr. Krantz stock.
The canceled company's location "Berlin" at the bottom of the label gives a hint that the specimen dates back before the movement from Berlin to Bonn in 1850. The type locality for datolite "Nødebro Mine (Nøddebro), Arendal Iron Mines, Arendal" is nearby.
