Panasqueira Mines, Covilhã, Castelo Branco District, Portugal
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.1 × 2 × 1.5 cm
Description

This milky, lustrous quartz matrix gives a superb contrasting base for the most desirable-colored apatite! Purple apatite is the most rare and thus, most wanted amongst collectors. Since Panasqueira is almost entirely defunct now, this color has become even rarer from the mine and this is a nice one, with eleongated sharp crystals with excellent luster! The gemminess is very high and the piece can be displayed in many ways! It's undmaged, with the quartz showing contacting on the bottom and periphery, lacking a termination.
