Description Tabs

Description

Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8 × 5.5 × 5 cm
Description

Classic, old and easily identifiable from the patterns of the glassy faces and the combination of species, this is a superb large piece of spessartine crystals from the classic locality! The crystals are well arranged and with a great relief on the matrix, growing flat on it! The color is deep wine red and the nature of the specific specimen causes an internal iridescence in person, possibly due to internal micro fractures, which results in a golden sparkle of the faces, apart from the luster! I person the color is more intense and there is no visual damage, just a couple of small dings on some crystals. Very hard to find material in good quality and almost impossible at this size!
