Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Plaka Mines, Plaka, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Class:
Massive/Crystalline
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6 × 4.5 × 4 cm
Description

Superb example of a limited and very desirable find from the classic locality.First colorless or "silver" smithsonite aggreagtes where found more than thirty years ago and easily disappeared. The second find a couple of years ago was even better, with more clear balls and more contrasting matrix!Only some pieces from Tsumeb can reach this quality,to my knowledge, for the color. This piece is easily set apart for the extreme luster and translucency, more than many from the find!It even has a light purple tone to it,when light passes through. No damage!
