Description

An aesthetic three dimensional specimen is from the initial discovery at the Lupoto mine featuring typical contrast between botryoidal plancheite casts and the later development chrysocolla psudomorphs. The style of crystallization is the defining character setting it apart from all later discoveries.

Heavier than most old find specimen due to increased crystal size this cast structure consists of numerous brown mineral lined hollow crusts of pale botryoidal plancheite hosting prismatic psm crystals believed to be former azurite blades, cleaved ends reveal a malachite/chrysocolla interior with complex surfaces terminating into thousands of distinctive microvilli like fingers.

This piece however stands apart from most others in that it features a significant broad 4.5 x 3.5cm twinning of crystal blades right along the top edge extending high up off the matrix.

An unknown black blotchy mineralization is evident on the surface as well as an unknown silver metallic botryoidal mineral in association with green malachite are evident.

The condition is outstanding for its size.
