Description

I received a shipment of material from the DRC a few weeks ago that contained amongst other things a new find of chrysocolla pseudomorphs from the Lupoto mine. Well known for producing find after find of unique chrysocolla psuedomorphs since 2013. After cleaning the material and comparing it to my  stock from all the previous discoveries I can safely say that it is far superior in color and consistency. I have listed six specimens on this auction- one from each of the finds spanning the past four years so that you can judge for yourself.

This 5,8cm floater specimen (type A) is by far the very finest quality featuring saturated turquoise color, with high luster and translucence along crystal edges absent in all previous finds (B through to E) upon close inspection you will note the typical crust like botryoidal casts of pale plancheite present in all previous discoveries along peripheral edges for comparison.

A fundamental difference is the weight of this new material- many times heavier than all others indicating higher chrysocolla content- less decay? This specimen is not a hollowed out crust but a solid heavy mineralization consisting of many blocky crystals with multiple terminations at either end.

The previous malachite component is visible in many partially altered cubes also displaying high luster. Undamaged within peripherally contacted edges. I only have around 20 pieces of similar material so don’t miss this opportunity.
