Description

From an old collection that only contained a brief slip of paper identifying the two minerals present on this 3-D matrix, the wording  adamite and malachite, Tsumeb “South West Africa” would indicate a rough timeline if indeed accurately stated and thus perhaps limit the options from which level-s it may have originally come from.

The piece stands well on one of the two contacted edges and offers you 360° viewing that reveals interesting undamaged mineralization covering every millimeter of the available surfaces.

Judging by the state of the dolomite component of the matrix there was considerable alteration and dissolving evident which is recognizable in the bubbles of dark green malachite that appear to have been etched away. Similarly the bright adamite too have morphed into what you see here- indistinguishable save for one crystal that still retains some typical features- it is not chalky like the others exhibiting luster and translucence instead. Both minerals exhibit a chattoyance despite their chalkiness.

The condition is undamaged.
