Now this is a great story for us- we recently analyzed a flat of yellow specimens from the Skorpion mine with the precise thought and hope of finding the rare mineral Scholzite after having seen something a year ago with one of the worlds master collectors in Namibia.

As fate would have it we were absolutely spot on with our thinking- attached is the analysis report from John Attard in the USA who does regular work for us regularly. The specimen features a series of chatoyant white radiating sprays buried within a yellowish mineral that we recognize as fluorapetite. The yellow mineral terminates in a series of finger like structures coated with chalcedony. The Skorpion mine produced many similar looking specimens over the years that are recognized today as fluorapetite replacing tarbuttite but they all lack the vital element that we were able to find in only a select few specimen. We searched through literally a hundred or so pieces of material to find only a handful that featured scholzite as you see it here.

This specimen in our opinion is a psm of fluorapetite after scholzite and we have around ten specimens only!!
