Buergerite & Topaz

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Mexquitic de Carmona Municipality, San Luis Potosi, Mexico
Size Range:
Thumbnail (1-3cm)
Size:
1.2 × 1.5 × 1.2 cm
Description

All of the Mexican buergerite crystals are from a single find in the 1960’s, and the locale was lost when the sole miner passed away without telling anyone exactly where he found these classic specimens.

It is very rare to have topaz in association! The main topaz crystal is terminated, and is actually fairly gemmy toward the tip! There are actually several other topaz crystals present (mainly only visible when looking at the back or sides of the specimen) but they are either small or cleaved.
