Class:

Size:
2.1 × 1.6 × 1 cm
Description

Raman confirmed karpenkoite from the type and only locality.

Extremely rare karpenkoite in assemblage with other cobaltoan selenites. Type locality!

In "analysis" section:

Very rich and Raman confirmed karpenkoite with a strongest band at around 835cm^(-1). It is the Co analogon of  martyite (Zn), with a similar Raman spectrum, but its strongest band moved to ~850cm^(-1).  See also original description of karpenkoite (Kasatkin et al.).

While karpenkoite seems to appear in Vanadium impregnated sandstone close to cobaltomenite, martyite appears to be dominant everywhere else, but often associated with Vanadium impregnated samples hosting minerals like rossite & calciodelrioite or tyuyamunite.
