Chalconatronite & Lecoqite-(Y)

P-XRD, SEM-EDS analysed, new find!

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Eureka Mine, Castell-estaó, La Torre de Cabdella, La Vall Fosca, Lleida, Catalonia, Spain
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.5 × 2.5 × 0.8 cm
Description

Intense blue chalconatronite and few needles of lecoqite-Y on uraninite bearing matrix.

Together with G. Möhn, known for moehnite, I made a lot of analysis on material from this mine. The first part was published for free and can be downloaded from a link on mindat.

P-XRD & SEM-EDS analysed material. Second locality for lecoqite-Y worldwide.

Samples should be examined if lecoqite-Y crystals can be used for a new single crystal structure solution and refinement, as was not the case for the type locality material from MSH, Canada.
