Description

Two sharply terminated lustrous bournonites inside a yellow-green siderite vug. If you took a closer look at the bournonites, you would notice they are actually polysynthetic clusters of multiple cyclic twinned individuals. The greenish coatings on the bournonite are alteration products, mostly oxyplumboromeite ('bindheimite'). Some iron oxides stain the siderite, adding red hues to the specimen.

Saint-Pons is a singular locale in the Alps where alpine-type combinations are found together with generally older well formed sulfosalts.
