Description

Matrix specimen with  red ruby crystals, emerald green Fuchsite and greenTourmaline in matrix. Most rocks are composed with a sapphire/ ruby rich core ranging in colour from red carmine and pale blue to dark blue violet. Tourmaline crystals occur within the muscovite and margarite matrix. Fluoresces bright deep red in UV LW.

Red ruby was discovered in the 1890's by gold miners in the Hokitika region of New Zealand.
