Description

Blue fluorescent Scheelite in gneiss matrix. Photos in UV SW and natural light. Originally thought to be a syngenetic deposit, but now recognised as an epigenetic metamorphosed deposit with several generations of quartz veins and scheelite. Older scheelite fluoresces yellowish due to minor Mo contents, younger (remobilised) scheelite fluoresces blue.
The W mineralisation is derived from acid rocks (now gneiss) bordering amphibolites.
