Description
Locality:
Girilambone Mine, Girilambone, Canbelego County, New South Wales, Australia
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7 × 5.5 × 0.2 cm
Description

A very thin plate of beautiful aborescent copper crystals from this 19th century copper mine. This specimen was obviously formed in a thin fracture in the host rock before it was extracted, possibly from more recent open cut operations in the 1990s.

The beautiful branching habit is most attractive. There are no points of attachment, no damage, and has virtuallyt no matrix atached. One side is more heavily tarnished than the other due to uneven exposure whilst in a collection.
