Description

A small but excellent specimen of these rare species. This is from the type locality for paratooite-(La)  (REE,Ca,Na,Sr)12Cu2(CO3)16 and IMA approved in 2005.

It occurs here as scattered platy pale blue crystals and association with plentiful white hemispheres of kamphaugite-(Y) across the entire surface of the specimen. Some minor sprays of green malachite completes the piece. These minerals are best viewed through a microscope.
