Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)

Description

A wonderfully unique specimen of quartz from this remote locality. The specimen features sparkling rounded columns of white quartz crystals that have formed an epimorph around a long crystal, since dissolved away & leaving diamond shaped holes in the quartz. This type of quartz is locally known as "Nail-hole quartz".

In cross section these crystal columns have a beautiful radiating structure that the camera has difficulty picking up. On top of that, at one end of the piece, there are pinkish pseudomorphs of quartz after calcite ? This all in one specimen makes it a highly sought after item for the quartz collector.
