Manganoan Calcite & Sphalerite

Fluorescent

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Racracancha Mine, Tinyahuarco, Pasco Province, Pasco Department, Peru
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.3 × 3.3 × 2 cm
Description

Attractive pale pink transluscent calcite forming partial rhombs that show zoning and second generation crystallisation on the surface. The calcite fluoresces well under short wave I believe but I can't personally verify the colour.

No damage to the surface of the crystals as far as I can see. The previous label gives the location as Alpamarca Mine but I believe this is more likely to be the Racracancha Mine. Same district. There is some associated small lustrous spahlerite crystals present at one end.
