Clinoclase & Chrysocolla

Ex. Peter Elliot (South Australia) & seller's own collection
Rare Mineral

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Dome Rock Copper Mine, Boolcoomatta Reserve, Olary Province, South Australia, Australia
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
9.5 × 6 × 3.3 cm
Description

Radiating sprays of the rare copper arsenate clinoclase are set amongst a hard layer of deep green chrysocolla on matrix.

This is quite a good small cabinet sized locality specimen collected in 1979. This old mine is now a reserve and has been partly rehabilitated, so the possibility of any future specimen material is unfortunately bleak.
