Description
Locality:
Puttapa, Leigh Creek, Flinders Ranges, South Australia, Australia
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8.5 × 5.2 × 4.3 cm
Description

A solid crystalline mass of pure white willemite from this unusual deposit. Prospectors passed by outcrops of willemite here, mistaking it for baryte. In the late 1970s open cut mining began and has continued sporadically to the present. This specimen shows layers of banded radiating willemite with some minor grey adamite and manganese dendrites. Quite difficult to find willemite in such a pure state and size.

Willemite is a heavy mineral so a flat rate for postage & handling of $12 will apply for this piece to all world destinations. Combine with other specimens and take advantage of this rate.
