Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Block 14 Opencut, Broken Hill, Yancowinna County, New South Wales, Australia
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5.5 × 4.4 × 4.5 cm
Description

Perhaps no collection would be complete without one of Broken Hill's signature minerals - Smithsonite. Traditionally forming white 'tear drop' forms on coronadite, this piece is a rarer light blue colour and forms a drusy lining to the inside of a broken open vugh.

Collected from stockpiled ore from open cut operations in the late 1990s. Quite pretty and apart from some contacting around the edges, there is no damage worth mentioning.
