Hydrozincite & Hemimorphite

Rare Mineral

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Evelyn Mine, Pine Creek, Victoria-Daly Region, Northern Territory, Australia
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.5 × 4.5 × 5 cm
Description

A great larger specimen for the species, normally seen only as micromounts or  thumbnails. This piece features dazzling white masses of botryoidal hydozincite, Zn5(CO3)2(OH)6 with micro hemimorphite crystals with matrix.

Some of the hemimorphite dispalys fine acicular radiating balls of crystals. It is difficult to know what side to display here as it is equally good on all sides.
