Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Paratoo Copper Mine, Yunta, Olary Province, South Australia, Australia
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4.2 × 4 × 1.7 cm
Description

Few rare minerals are as beautiful as this one. Decrespignyite is a copper Y & REE carbonate and is only found at this small abandoned mine.

It usually forms thin films comprising balls of micro crystals but on this rare occasion it appears to have replaced radiating sprays of malachite common to this locality. The matrix is a layered siltstone.
