Mansfieldite & Smolyaninovite

Rare Mineral

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Mount Cobalt Mine, Selwyn District, Cloncurry Shire, Queensland, Australia
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6 × 5.4 × 3.5 cm
Description

Rarely do you find this rare mineral in a cabinet sized specimen and from this locality they are difficult to obtain. This piece came to light at a recent mineral show. It features large areas of pink micro mansfieldite crystals all over the specimen.

One side also features extensive areas of straw coloured radiating crystals of smolianinovite pseudomorphing erythrite. This is as good as I have seen from this locality.
