Description

Well coloured crystalgroup of sharp crystals

New, extremely limited find from Hungary: Beautiful vivid purple coquimbite aggregates built up from well formed crystals, found in an old locality.
The mineral changes colours under different types of light: brownish-purple under sunlight, brown under artificial lights (like ordinary light bulbs or any warm tone light) and vivid purple under cold tone led lights, this brings up the most aesthetic colour of the coquimbites. The coquimbite from Mátraszentimre are similar to the Peruvian ones, they are light sensitive, so they shouldn't be placed under permanent light. All pieces are conserved, therefore if they are stored in a non-wet place (40-60% RH), the amazing colour and colour change will be enjoyable for a long time.
Spherical aggregates are the most rare type of coquimbites and only a few pieces found. These aggregates were floating between massive halotrichite needles.
