Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Mansfeld Basin, Saxony - Anhalt, Germany
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3 × 4 × 1 cm
Description

A quite heavy and beautiful golden red metallic lustrous sample of hexagonal pyramidal crystallized nickeline on black copper shale. On top some raw white barite which is typical for the so called "Rückenmineralisation" occurring on tectonic fractures of the copper shale. A crack seems to occurre but seems more tectonically originated because of the partial baryte filling. A classic.
