Description

A vug in the matrix is lined by clean pearl white elongated crystals of Latiumite. a very rare carbo-sulphate, known only in this italian district.

The specimen belonged to the Sandro Maggia collection, one of the most advanced systematic collectors in Italy and retains his label. Sandro labeled he specimen as coming from Lazio. It is probably more likely coming from the Case Collina quarry, which even if in Toscana and not Lazio, is indeed not so far and belongs to the same paragenesis.
