Description

Classic cluster featuring prismatic green crystals of tourmaline (var. elbaite) grown on clean quartz. This variety of tourmaline takes its name from the Elba Island, which is the type locality for it. The crystals have good terminations and transparence and show a change of colour from green to pink.

The specimen can be dated to end of 1800 from the collection he belonged to and is very likely coming from the famous Grotta d'Oggi.

The crystals have very likely an early repair, which is today quite common for these specimens. Nevertheless, an excellent elban classic.
