Description
Locality:
Navan Mine, Navan, County Meath, Irish Republic (Eire)

Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5 × 4.5 × 4 cm
Weight:
68.00gr
Description

A very rare example of nicely formed scalenohedral calcite crystals from this uncommon Irish locality. Unfortunately the management of the mine has strongly discouraged collecting of specimens from the mine so very few specimens have come out.

Under short wave UV light the calcite crystals produce a nice orange coloured fluorescence.
