Description

A super example of a large single fluorite crystal to 5.5cm on edge from a classic, and now inaccessible, Illinois fluorite locality - the American Fluorite Museum is now built on the site.

The crystal is a lovely translucent violet colour and displays muliple darker violet coloured phantoms.

At one end of the specimen is a small cluster of colourless to brown coloured baryte crystals. Small pyrite crystals are present between the baryte blades.

An historically important and very aesthetic specimen. With original North Star Minerals/Ross Lille label
