Description

A lovely specimen from the famous Tynagh Mine in County Galway consisting of baryte matrix with vugs lined with small deep blue azurite crystals associated with green botryoidal malachite and light green mimetite crystals. A super specimen to explore under the scope with additional unresearched minerals also being present including some possible beudantite. The specimen was collected back in 1996 from a large ore pile which had been left after the mine closed in 1982. Unfortunately the area of the ore pile was subsequently cleared and a power station built on it!
