A nice large example of a classic Taffs Well calcite crystal. There appears to be at least 2 and possibly three generations of calcite present with an initial large scalenohedral crystal having been overgrown with small deeper colour crystals. Under short wave UV light the initial crystal and outer crystals display very limited fluorescence, however an inner band displays bright fluorescence and mild phosphorescence. LC
